北朝鮮ミサイルの脅威

北朝鮮はある意味自国の防衛のために核ミサイル開発を継続している。
アメリカの基地がある、日本や韓国に対する牽制や、実験のためにミサイルの発射を繰返している。

日本の防衛費が増額されている背景の一つ。

インターネット

通信技術やインターネットの発達により、SNS等を含め、国境を越えた交流をとおして、文化や経済の面で相互理解が以前よりは進んでいる。

I think that world peace can't be achieved in the near future.
I have two reasons to support my opinion.

Firstly, conflicts and wars never end due to differences in beliefs and values.

For example, for authoritarian countries, democratic countries are a threat.
The cause of Russia's invasion of Ukraine is fundamentally a fear of democracy.

Another example is that China is trying to unify Taiwan, and there is a possibility of a Taiwan contingency.
In the 2022 Beijing Olympics, Taiwan was called as "Chinese Taipei", which is an expression to consider Taiwan as part of China.

The Middle East also saw a military clash between Hamas and Israel in 2023 as part of the long-standing Israeli–Palestinian conflict.

Secondly, there are threats from countries that possess nuclear weapons.
For example, North Korea has been constantly launching missiles either as a pressure on Japan and South Korea, which host U.S. military bases, or for testing purposes.
This is one of the reasons why Japan's defense budget has been increased in recent years.

In conclusion, I am of the opinion that world peace can't be achieved in the near future.
