スピーチ例

I think that Japan should prioritize relations with the United States.
I have two reasons to support my opinion.

Firstly, Japan renounced military force as a means of settling international disputes in Article 9 of its Constitution.
And under the Japan-US security treaty, the US military is supposed to be deployed to defend Japan in the event that Japan is attacked by another country.
There are a variety of threats around Japan. North Korea, for example, has been repeatedly testing missile launches.
For national security, the relationship with the US is essential.

Secondly, the United States is one of Japan's largest trading partners.
Trade with neighboring countries like Russia and China is also significant.
However, the future continuity of trade is unstable.
As for Russia, the invasion of Ukraine is a concern, and as for China, the Taiwan contingency is a concern.

In the event of a contingency in Taiwan, if TSMC in Taiwan is affected, the impact will spread to the entire world.
Japan imports most of its semiconductors from China and Taiwan.
For the sake of economic security, the Japanese government provided subsidies to lure TSMC to Kumamoto Prefecture,
so that Japan can secure semiconductors domestically.

In conclusion, both are important, but given the choice between the two, Japan should prioritize its relationship with the United States over its neighbors.
